Call for Instructors!

The PEC Professional Development Committee is working to establish a new educational opportunity in 2009 by sponsoring a 6-session review for the Principles and Practice of Engineering Civil Breadth Exam, scheduled to take place Friday, April 24, 2009.

As a member of a professional society which encourages engineers to become P.E.'s, we know you are proud of your profession and understand the importance of obtaining this prestigious credential. As a result, we are asking for your support in becoming an instructor for one or more of the following review session dates and disciplines noted below.

Those who volunteer do not require any previous teaching background. As a sponsor of this exam, all instructors will receive the necessary resources to effectively instruct a course. Instructor resources include: Civil Engineering PE License Review 17th Edition, Civil Engineering PE Problems & Solutions 17th Edition, Civil Engineering Problem-Solving Flowcharts for the PE Exam, helpful links to teaching guides, conference calls with past instructors with an opportunity for Q&A, Powerpoint Presentations which serve as a template for your lesson, etc.

Please review the following information. We ask that all interested instructors contact the PEC office no later than Friday, December 12, 2008. Please click on the link below in order to fill out the necessary applicant information. The Professional Development Committee will be reviewing all applications and informing instructors of their session dates/disciplines by Friday, October 31st. The review location will be based at an engineering firm in the Denver area. Details on the location will be provided at a later date.

We appreciate your support!

PE Exam Review - Instructor Guidelines & Application

Instructor Rate: $150.00 per day of instructing

Time:  PEC has provided an 8-hour time block for each review session that will begin at 8:00 a.m. and run through 5:00 p.m..  Instructors should review the course materials and notify immediately if this is not a sufficient time frame to present all necessary material.

Mentor Opportunities:

If you are not able to instruct a course, but are interested in helping in another way, we have arranged for mentor opportunities as well.

Once a student has registered for a course, they will have the option to be provided a mentor. We will provide them one mentor and include the contact information you allow to be given out. The PEC office will inform mentors of the student they are assigned. This will give students an opportunity to call you if they have any questions during the review or would like outside assistance from a P.E.

Please click here to print a mentor application.
